It was made using cubase 5.
No samples were used apart from the drum loop (which I did some edits to) and the parts from the original track.
All the vocal edits and glitches you’ll here were made from the original acapella using various vst plugings, a pair of scissors and a bit of glue.The synths used were:

fxpansions – DCAM: synth squad> Strobe (Which I’m loving at the moment)

I decided to create this track from the ground up so I could add musicality that would not distract or take away from the vocals. As such, I decided to write and perform the instrumentals myself (all on Korg). There are several layers of synth bass, synth, strings, piano, and a little guitar. The result was a track that I think you could actually have sex to…granted if you do, you might want to loop it a few times cause it’s only 3:29. It definately remains in the R&B/Hip-Hop genre. Anyway, this was my interpretation of the acapella as well as my first attempt at creating original content for a remix.Track Info:

I enjoyed both but was more drawn to DJ Mikes version, as that is the genre I usually listen to.
The only thing that I didn’t like about it was something that sounded like a fart at 0:26, 1:26 etc etc..
Besides that, the whole production was pretty good.2 thumbs up guys

A BIG thanks to Gmoney, JoJo and DJ Sting for the effort made during the judging stage. I loved the audio of Gmoney and JoJo listening to the tracks, it really added a personal touch to the competition.

Only kidding, I couldn’t be happier with the comments made. Its excellent when you get detailed feedback from people about your work, I’m always very critical when it comes to my own stuff so its always a boost when you get positive comments like that.

AdSense 336x280Thanks everyone! I know what kind of talent lives in these boards so I figured it was a longshot to win when I entered. The quality of De-Fine’s mix was off the charts so even when it was just the two of us, it didn’t really feel like 50-50
. Anyway, it was a real pleasure working with an original track and I second the compliment on how the contest was executed and judged. I suppose I have to come up with something now to continue the effort. GMoney set the bar pretty high so I’ll do my best.
Hopefully, I will get the chance to collaborate with all of you on a future project. In the meantime, I need to scour my contacts list for any friends I have that can sing
