i started on guitar so my first couple of songs were a bunch of guitar loops and a simple drum loop, then i was doing more artsy projects and writing instrumental songs for movies. Ive been delving into trancey stuff and reggae lately doing alot more remixes and sampling alot more. Ive been getting into synth VST’s which help alot in writing those kinda trancey techno songs like cronox, albino, etc. I am trying to get to a point where i can make original songs/remixes/mash-ups and perform them live for an audience(my standards are high for myself, even though i do write crap every now and then) using midi controls for effects and triggering. hopefully if i get to that point i can start incorporating live instrument looping like a simple EOTO(….i dont have 3 computers running ableton and about 10 midi controllers and multiple synths like they do….)
anyway ive ranted enough, if anyone wants to collaborate with me as ive never done it before i think it would be fun.AdSense 336x280May 17, 2011 at 1:57 am #687220

I primarily make rap/hiphop/rnb, but as an African American man I don’t want to be typecast in those genre. When it’s all said and done,I want to do EVERYTHING!AdSense 336x280September 17, 2011 at 1:01 am #689024

Great to see many different styles represented here!
I’m a bit of a musical tart, really. I’ve always had a very broad musical taste, in my opinion, you get amazing and awful music in EVERY single genre. It saddens me when people hate on entire genres out of sheer ignorance… well, it’s their loss!
Due to my weird open-minded brain (weird in the sense that most people are quite blinkered in their musical tastes), I write almost all styles of music. I play / write for acoustic guitar, sing, rap, mc, and also engineer for a living… writing almost all styles of dance music. So that includes: dubstep, house / electro, progressive / uplifting / euro trance, hard dance / hard house, uk hardcore / freeform, gabber, and DnB.
I would get totally bored if I wrote the same genre week in, week out! I honestly don’t know how people do that.AdSense 336x280January 14, 2013 at 3:24 pm #696514

+1 for ambient. I love some chill music man.
And I’m really not sure 100% what it’s called? It’s not new but it’s been getting pretty popular recently. It’s an ambient, chill kind of genre but with a nice steady beat. Really cool. Valley Girls by Mux Mool is a god example.AdSense 336x280
