acheadKeymasterWhat’s goin on I’m new to this. I’ve been reading all of the vocal extraction methods and I think this is awesome.

acheadKeymasterVoice Trap & Isolator does good job on old stereo recordings where channel separation is very prominent. For example, some early Beatles recordings have vocal in the center and everything else hard panned right and left.

SomeRandomPersonParticipanti did an inversion on one and the music got quieter but didn’t go away. So I did a noise reduction on top of that and then it went away but it doesn’t sound that great

acheadKeymasterThanks it helped me.

andrewloganParticipantYou forgot the least effective method, surgical EQing. This is almost never worht doing unless it’s just vocals over a bassline. If you want an example, see:
chamillionaire_-_ridin_(versaceboi_diy_acapella).mp3
Well, don’t actually use your credits to download it…AdSense 336x280May 5, 2007 at 6:21 am #620695
acheadKeymasterya trying to say to i that you cyaan eq. mon even if you use a method like phasing it’s still a good idea to EQ.. don lissen to what this bway tell you.. Proper eq methods are essential to any studio work nah seh?

acheadKeymasterDepends.. Soundforge is good.. but no multi track.. You might have better luck just throwing down on Cubase what not…

acheadKeymasterGreat thread…
I had a thought may interest some of you…I have a little device that Akai put out some years ago for learning guitar parts, that would cancel out the vocals/lead guitar so that you could play along with the song…I bet this device could be useful in phasing out vocals in cases where instrumentals aren’t available (ie: older songs)
…the only thing is you’d have to do it piece by piece since it only has 30 seconds of sample time. Does anyone know of any computer programs that cancel vocals?
Also, this is my first post, and I haven’t been able to check out the available acapellas yet…it sounds like it’s mostly hip hop, are there older acapellas? soul? jazz? blues?
