DJ ValParticipantDJ_Patron there are quite a number of services (free) that over space with step by step website set up. However it all depends what kind of site your after i.e one like this where you can have a forum or something like mine. If you take a look at my site, you can see what you can achieve for free. I have a number of 3D templates on my site, so you may have to give the home page a moment or two to load up. I have tha basic/free package, but I’m soon upgrading to thier platinum package which will enable me to post some of my mixes up.

So is GeoCities not GOOD??? Cuz i already purchased a monthly plan with them. And i also purchase an WIMPY MP3 Player for my site. Im not too familiar with html and codes and stuff, the closest i can get to html, isMYSPACE. Where do i got to go to get bachground or layouts already premade? Or do i have to create one from scrattch? I litereally need step by step help, since i already have a plan goin, imight as well sart building my site dont you think? So i just need help on how to find codes for bacgrounds how to find codes for text, and all that good stuff, and i also need to find a code where i can place the MP3 playeron my page too. So is there any information you can give me, or a website that you can point me in the direction of, that is like a tutorial?
and acapella why cant i afford you?:lool:

AnonymousInactivedreamhost or accuwebhosting or anyone else you want for your webhosting. Plans as cheap as like 4 bucks a month. I’d get a provider using Windows servers to keep things simpler for you, if you aren’t familiar with all this.
Register a domain (http://www.whatever.com) either with your webhosting provider or even better yet, with Network Solutions.
Get software to design the actual site. I can’t use anything but GoLive/Dreamweaver/Flash, however you can get away with freebie stuff if you’re just starting out. Do a search if need be, or uh…. if you’re "savy" newsgroups are your best friend. I won’t explain those further, so again, do a search on the net if need be.
My style? Well, I typically make the entire site in Photoshop and then slice it up as needed, bring it into GoLive/Dreamweaver/Flash and make the actual site out of it.
Websites are soooo freakin easy. If you wanna make something really nice, go to learn HTML, CSS, PHP and XML. With those 4 alone, you can pretty much make whatever you want. If you just want to slowly get into this, do a search for the freebie website creators and your webhosting package may even include one for you.

MelParticipantPatron,
You may also want to jazz your site up with a little javascript. Now, most people stray away from this language (hope I didn’t say the forbidden word), but its actually not that bad as long as you use Server-Side Javascript. That way, your site is guaranteed to run on just about anyone’s browser. PHP and ASP are particularly good for stringing server side Javascript.
For free javascripts that are already written, visit http://javascript.internet.com
I’ll also be glad to give you a few pointers, just PM sometimes.
Best of luck.

coojuiceParticipantwhat do you want your site to consist of? if it’s for tracks you have created and want to share, vids, pics your best bet is simply creating a myspace or bebo account and modifying your page to your taste. If it’s something other than this I would reccomend buying a template thats best suited for your idea as a starter.
Creating a website can take ages, especially if it’s your first attempt.
If you are wanting to create your own from scratch I would reccomend Macromedia Dreamweaver.
Hope this helps.
