antrussellParticipantHey guys,
Short of endlessly browsing the internet and p2p sharing programs, where are some good sources of instrumentals of real tracks?
Hip Hop tend not to be too difficult to find, but where are the studio instrumentals of rock and pop tracks??
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Ant

HifiBanjoStringsParticipantSometimes, you can find them on the CDM or CDS release of the track but if you were looking for something like Instrumentals4U, then I don’t know of any site like that. I just google ‘song name instrumental download’ and see where that takes me. They could be in torrents, direct download or whatever but as far as I know, there’s no central hub for the uploading and downloading of instrumentals.

antrussellParticipantCheers mate,
Perhaps that can be a challenge for someone!

djsosofreshParticipantI usually just google for example
"download U2 instrumental with or without you"
and I usually find some stuff if the song is somewhat popular
hope that helps!

PaffendorfParticipantBelieve it or not, I get most of my instrumentals from YouTube! All you have to do is go to Google and search for "convert youtube".
Also, a very good site to get close to the original instrumental is http://www.soundclick.com, there atre some very talented artists there that freely give thier music away. Hope this helps a bit!

HifiBanjoStringsParticipantYeah, but the quality of a Youtube rip.. man, your ears are fucked if you think it’s good.
For me, as I said, the best method by far is through torrents. There’s one out there with whole albums of instrumentals, there’s one with rare stuff on.. you can even find some multitracks. Just a question of how much you’re willing to search.

antrussellParticipantThanks again guys.
Have tapped into the torrents and is working wonders. Only problem is picking the right keywords to search for.
Definitely couldn’t produce something from a youtube rip though, have to agree with you there DJBritBoy.

However I dare say there isn’t going to be many acapellas uploaded to YouTube at 720p or 1080p.

Here’s a few good ones:
‘rare instrumentals’
‘multitrack mogg’ (.mogg files can only be opened with Audacity mind, but it’s free to download and has unlimited rendering)
‘instrumental albums’And I’m glad to hear it’s going good. I think over about 60-70% of my instrumentals are from torrent downloads.
