weirdstffanimation6Participantpersonally i stick to 3 programmes
1 fl studio 8 xxl edition
2 wavepad
3 garage band
but I’m super amateur what do you use?AdSense 336x280August 22, 2009 at 7:02 am #671039
ginjagaidenParticipantI’ve just got ableton live and pesonally thats all I need… the audio sample editing in ableton is awesome. chopping up samples is so easy, you can even take a drum loop and split all the drums in 1 sample into a seperate drum rack and re use the whole rack. I’m not really into fl.

CrazyHorseParticipantI also use Ableton Live, its really great
AdSense 336x280January 21, 2010 at 5:45 pm #676428
jimmymasonParticipantIt depends what you want to do with it. You can’t really compare Traktor and Virtual DJ to Ableton and FL, but if it’s editing/producing that you’re talking about then I like Ableton with Reason rewired in. Reason fills in the gaps that Ableton has and you get a pretty complete package. For sound editing I use Sound Forge and for DJing I like Traktor.

Tim-ZoneParticipantHi All, New to the forum

Well myself I am new to Mashups and bootlegs but I do use the following
Virtual DJ 6.2 with Controller
FL 9
Acid ProAdSense 336x280October 10, 2010 at 12:41 pm #682807
ciagParticipantI use Logic Pro with Flex time which I can only say is amazing. It also has a sophisticated pitch adjuster, auto-tune and a top class vocoder if that’s your flavour. I am now a huge Logic fan but the one thing I will say is that the workflow in logic takes a good deal to get used to, specially if you’re moving from Reason like I did. I still use reason now and again, a lot of people slate Reason but for beginners it’s perfect, there’s a lot that can learned in reason’s interface specially how to program synths and side-chanining etc. But one thing reason does not do well at all is vocals, it’s not impossible but it’s quite limited.

151095ParticipantI can only recommend Traktor. Have’nt tried many others, though. I like the interface and imo it’s pretty userfriendly. I use a controller, and it runs smooth.

_tom_ParticipantI’ve always used Reaper, nice clean UI and really easy to use. I’m currently trying out Fruity Loops but I’m finding the interface absolutely horrible to work with. I will eventually buy a mac and use Logic since I think that’s great for both electronic and "normal" music

AdSense 336x280July 13, 2011 at 1:26 am #687995
bigdarnellParticipantI use Audition almost exclusively. Used to use a broader assortment, different programs for different functions, but Audition pretty much does everything I need for remixing etc…so there’s no real reason to jump around for me anymore.
Interesting to hear what others use and why, though. Always wonder if the grass is truly greener.
