GuitarplayainMDParticipantOkay, I’ve heard the term Full Vocal mix used alot. Whenever I hear a "full vocal mix", it seems to be an instrumental with vocals sprinkled about through the song but the chorus is in there still. Technically, isn’t that dub? So, what’s the diff between dub and full vocal mix.
p.s. I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this.

hersimpParticipantIt’s normally called "Full Vocal Mix" when the original really is a instrumental based tune (Maybe some spoken vocals only)
Then they decide to release the tune commercially, so vocals are added.
The original is then still Original Mix or something, and the new recorded vocal version will be "Full Vocal Mix"
In some cases they also call it Full Vocal Mix, or only vocal mix for that matter, from the start
It actually lies in the name. Full Vocal Mix means the version with the completed vocals =]

GuitarplayainMDParticipantOkay, well, it’s weird because on the "Days Go By" by Dirty Vegas it says full vocal mix and it’s an instrumental but with small snippets of vocals peppered throughout the song.

hersimpParticipantWell, it’s not good answer to what a titled remix/version means really
What I said is what it normally is…Are you sure your "Full Vocal Mix" of Days Go By are titled correctly then?
The length is supposed to be around 8.10 mins. Sure it’s not the dub version that are titled wrong or something?AdSense 336x280January 11, 2007 at 4:54 am #609531
GuitarplayainMDParticipantWell, here’s a sample clip of both mixes.

hersimpParticipantWell, tbh… I’m not really with you here anymore now.
I hope you did’nt based this on that sample, cause it’s a clip of the 24 first seconds of the full length track. That means 24 seconds of only drumsMy copy of the Full Vocal Mix does’nt have that little use of vocals really…

GuitarplayainMDParticipantNo, I have the CD. It’s an import from "Made in Holland"

hersimpParticipantWell, then I don’t know mate. The original is’nt based on that much vocals really… Some of the remixes have more vocal use than the original too.
I guess it’s called the Full Vocal Mix because it’s the version including the full vocals, hehe

anisinaParticipantOr simply because the Vocal has not been EQ’d, or not as much, unlike the final mix. So, the Vocal frequencies occupy more of the frequency spectrum. More Low and more High.
