‘Making Sweet Music’ will chronicle the revolutionary journey of music production and the emergence of the home studio. This story will be told through the eyes of the continually evolving technologies that have changed the way music is produced.
Taking a retrospective look from 1980 onwards, this 2X45 minutes documentary, will explore the link between the increasing access of technology, to the creative sounds we are hearing today.
Featuring contributions from musicians and producers past and present, this documentary will be a showcase on the use of music technology. From Synths to 8-tracks, the real stars of this programme will be the technologies that are the changing the face of music in the modern era.
We are currently looking to find the following people who will be willing to contribute and appear in this documentary:
• People with great, wacky or unusual studios • Bands, musicians and record label executives • Up-and-coming artists, bedroom dj’s and owners of pirate radio stations using some of the technologies shaping music today • Technical referees, author and magazine representatives on the subject • Kit makers, software houses and established kit manufacturers • People with any interesting or strange stories about how they got into music production • People passionate about particular pieces of kit; Synths,drum-machine or software fanatics • People with strong opinions about the significance and transformation related to music technology • People that are anti electronic music forms and ways of modern recording, especially those involved in movements actually against it • People simply with just interesting stories to tell that revolve around any of timeframes or pieces of kit we have discussed.
