PranksterParticipantWell I got vista.. I Didn’t like it at first because my soundcard was giving some problems, but now it works fine
So I’ll stike with Vista for now..AdSense 336x280May 26, 2008 at 6:29 pm #650140
zor3ranParticipantI run Acid 6.0 on vista with no problems, but it is true that xp will be better and more solid for a variety of older and even newer DAW’s. If you can downgrade to xp , than do so. Vista was not accepted warmly from lots of people, but I personally did not have any major problem with vista.

DJ MEZOParticipantCubase works fine with vista?
AdSense 336x280August 19, 2008 at 2:09 am #655470
zor3ranParticipantXP pro is solid and downgrade is must for some audio applications.
Vista will catch up althought I doubt it will raise to the same XP level. it will be replaced by the newer OS.AdSense 336x280August 19, 2008 at 8:45 pm #655537
deejaygallagherParticipantI had XP for years…heard Vista was amazing so I tried it.
Had vista for a couple of months, and now im BACK with XP!
XP FTW! Vista is so unstable yet!
AdSense 336x280August 30, 2008 at 12:52 pm #656011
chex4Participantxp for sure! im running vista atm wish i had off stayed to xp. as said^^ its still way to unstable, and the amount of cpu & ram it takes up is crazy

and with a great look tooAdSense 336x280December 7, 2008 at 4:14 am #660332
robdenlouParticipantVista (for me) is more stable than XP. Yes its a memory hog but memory is dirt cheap these days.
I think the way Vista handles errors (drivers especially) is superior to XP.
I’ve been using Vista for just under a year and have never seen it crash.
AdSense 336x280December 7, 2008 at 4:31 am #660335
popnfreshParticipantxp all the way
AdSense 336x280December 11, 2008 at 7:27 pm #660600
JingoParticipantI use vista on my laptop for almost a year now and NEVER ever had any problem with that. The only sh*t I had with my computer came from a hardware stuff.
My brother has xp on his desk PC and always has problems with his computer…
That’s why I don’t always understand the shit every one talk about vista, I use it and this work pretty well !
AdSense 336x280December 14, 2008 at 3:10 am #660737
daskipParticipantit’s just that vista uses more cpu and ram than xp, so your pc may start lacking of ram & cpu at some point of a project more easily……
but anyways i think of switchin this new year to Macintosh..
AdSense 336x280December 31, 2008 at 5:30 pm #661650
avalonandonParticipantI just built a new system from the ground up and installed XP. It is reliable, stable, compatible and doesn’t hog power like VISTA.
AdSense 336x280January 12, 2009 at 6:21 pm #662444
acheadKeymasterXPs really great as long as you have an average comp.
for more heavy machines I would use the s***ty Vista, works good as hell.AdSense 336x280January 20, 2009 at 12:52 am #662850
ron-eParticipantI’ve been hearing mixed reviews of VISTA. More negative comments than positive. Not only in music production applications, but in general.
There are some Vista users out there who luckily have no problems with their production setup…yet a majority of PC users are sticking to XP….like myself.
I wonder if Vista will be what it should have been with the new upcoming OS called Windows 7.
Only time will tell, but for right now XP on my machine ain’t broke, and works like champ.
AdSense 336x280January 21, 2009 at 8:09 pm #662912
mike001ParticipantHappy with XP.
Does the job well even on my old single 3.2 ghz processor.
But Computer Music seem to use vista for most of there test PC’s nowadays.
Ahh remember the Atari & Cubase.
Never got any problems with that system.
Rock solid.

damuhParticipantvista is the baddest shit ever dropped….
XP will be used for the next 5 yrs as it looks likeAdSense 336x280April 9, 2009 at 11:43 am #666467
DecibelAlexParticipantOften the compability problem can be fixed by right clickin on the .exe file –> properties –> compability and there you can choose wot OS the prog. is compatible wif.
I have Vista on my computer. However, it laggs as hell! Not only bcuz of viruses, i have not so much RAM memory. My teory is that if u have a computer wif, for example, 3gb RAM and XP, then ur computer works more fine than wif vista. Vista is just a little more nice wif its Aero theme and more features.. The reason why i don’t install XP to my pc is cuz the drivers doesn’t support my motherboards soundcard
i could need a little help wif it.. Plz add my msn if any1 can help!AdSense 336x280October 26, 2009 at 3:56 pm #673407
DreamviewParticipantI tested Vista, but I prefer XP and I don’t want to change my system now : )

AdSense 336x280November 30, 2009 at 8:35 pm #674649
DecibelAlexParticipantwindows7 if u wanna have a nice and good OS. otherwise i recommend XP if u have less than 3gb ram. u can still get ur XP look like vista. theres alot of vista themes out there (and windows7 themes also!) and if u wanna have the same transparent look like in vista aero, dl truetransparency!

win7 ofc! what did you think??

vista takes about 3gb ram to work properly when win7 only requires 700mbAdSense 336x280December 27, 2009 at 3:12 pm #675549
