torre086ParticipantHello.
I’m attempting to make an acapella of "Dead and Gone" by TI and I was confused about how I exactly use the Knockout VST.
I have installed it in my VST folder, but I don’t know how to use it.
What program should I use the VST in?
Any advice on how I go about using this?
Please and thank you.

iwantacapellassParticipantyou could probably get Adobe Audition, I used to use it on my computer. But any program that lets you invert the instrumental is good. I have no idea what i VST is though lol sorry.

torre086ParticipantThanks for the pointers.
However, I have neither Audition nor Wavelab 5.
I do have….
Audacity
Acid Pro 7
VirtualDJKnow how I can apply knockout or inversion with those programs? I haven’t gotten the instrumental inversion technique to work in Audacity yet.

random1234567890ParticipantYeah, I tried it in Audacity and, while the preview sounded pretty good, when I allowed it to complete the process it left in a whole lot of frequencies that weren’t there in the preview. Which is… frustrating. But it removed a bit; still, not very good considering I had it all lined up and did everything the right way.

texasskoolboiParticipantyou can use it with acid by adding the knockout effect to your main mix..
if you go to your master volume you should see a small green button. that is your effect button. click it and find your knockout vst. add it to your project the pan the instrumental hard right and the acapella hard left.
adjust the knock out effect on the main mix until you are satisfied and render your track.
