VoicedudeParticipantJust today, I have finished my second in at least three socially relevant mash-ups this year.
It’s called "War Bombs"
…and it mashes the following songs:
"You Dropped A Bomb On Me" by the Gap Band,
"War" by Edwin Starr,
"War Pigs" by Black Sabbath,
and "Bombs Over Baghdad" by Outkast. It guess it’s obvious what it’s about. And now we have all suffered through FOUR years of this piece of Shi’ite war! Music has the power to entertain, to make us dance, but also to make us think. I dedicate this with total love, respect, and support to the troops who’ve been unnecessarily put in harm’s way.
In the usual spot:

The CutterParticipantHey his Royal Dudeness,
I wanted to listen to this track but when I got to your page and went to download the mix I was asked to sign in and or sign up for access to multiply. I know this is something multiply has implemented recently. It has been discussed heavily on GYBO. I believe there is way to give non members/everyone access to download from your page without sign in/signup but I am not 100% sure.
Have a nice day,
Mr. C.

VoicedudeParticipantNo, as you said, Multiply is now by sign-up only. I wrote them a long, eloquent letter when they made this decision a few weeks ago. I guess they don’t get it: that they should entice sign-ups by being ‘cool’ rather than by extortion.
Those who have no problem can still find it on the Multiply site. It’s actually a very cool site – wa-a-ay better than MySpazz or YouTube, imho. And they won’t spam or cookie you, either. If you don’t want e-mails, you won’t get ’em. I highly recommend them, but I won’t give up my fight against their recent decision, either!
HOWEVER, my brother from another mother DJ Useo graciously posted this on his podcast site until I can get something else sorted out. He even did some cool arwtork for it. It’s already getting noticed by some of the ‘lefty’ websites, like peacebuttons.info. Hopefully, more will follow.
You can D/L it or stream it HERE:

The CutterParticipantHey Dude,
Nice………………………………………..
You did a very excellent job editing this mix. The transitions and mix between songs flows nicely. The composition is very creative. I like the bush dialogue. "Heh Heh I’m the decider. I decide things"(God what an idiot. Of course I mean GW). How long did you work on this? Also since you had 4 different tunes in this one, what program did you use for "key matching"? I always like to know what was used to create the more complex mixes such as this. Have you thought about hosting your own domain name/site? With the amount of tunes you put out and already have it would be worth it.
Regards,
Mr. C.

Thank you very much. Since I currently don’t have use of my precious ProTools (long story), I’ve been forced to make everything on Audacity which is an unstable, not-very-user-friendly program. It crashed on me and lost data FOUR TIMES while making this (once when I was two-thirds finished!) This final version was started almost from scratch Sunday morning, but I was determined to get it out by the Fourth Anniversary date. Then, after I finally posted it, came the news from you and GYBO about the reaction to Multiply’s rule changes.
I was beginning to think it was a right-wing, Bu$hCo conspiracy to keep me from getting it out…

my ear!
I’m a musician with perfect pitch, and I use a guitar or keyboard for confirmation. All these songs are in the key of E minor, except for Edwin Starr’s which is in Eb minor and I just pitched it up a half step.

I’m open to it. I gave Multiply a long, eloquent piece of my mind a few weeks ago when they first made their dumb decision (comparing it to once-loved Angel’s owner Artie Moreno’s name change of our team to "LA".) But they don’t get it opting to extort people into signing up, rather than entice them through the coolness of their site (and it is!).
I’m open to any easy to use suggestions that won’t break me financially, and with all that I already spend on computers, the web, my business, electronics, etc., it wouldn’t take too much….
Thanx!
