TeeRevParticipantive just been getting into mashups for about a month or 2 now, and im starting to get the hang of fruity loops and audacity…and i have some pretty good ideas for some mixes, but i can never seem to get things to sound good and after a while i find ive moved on to other samples and never really finish a song…just wondering how much time you usually spend to make one good track? hours…days? thanks

Luko79ParticipantIts song dependant… but i would say a mashhup shouldnt be taking you days, a remix ..m,aybe
depends on wether your mashing 2 things together or creating a completely new original backing piece for some vocals..
i made a really good mashup in a few hours the other day , but the track was screaming for a vocal and the garbage one i found just fitted, i had to chop it in 2 places the rest just fit
sometimes its easy like that.
as for transitions?? do you mean like breakdowns and gelling say a vocal that ends early when the instrumental track still has a bar or so left before the breakdwon?? in that case i get funky with delays and filters etc.. to let the vocal ring out then filter it slowly till it ends when the instrumental does….
