DJSH4KESParticipantI uninstalled Java because it wasnt working properly and now some of my other programs don’t work. I’m using vista but everything was fine a couple of days ago. Everytime I visit java.com I cant connect to the file location and it comes up with errors. I’ve tried downloading the online and offline versions and nothing seems to work. Anybody know another program or place where I can find help? Any advice is much appreciated as I’m pulling my hair out now. lol (not literally)

anisinaParticipantTry a System Restore (if you have it on Vista) or, failing that, do a reinstall via the Recovery Partition.
The Offline install should work though, providing their is enough disk space.
PS. I don’t have Vista, and won’t even go anywhere near it yet, as Microsoft don’t seem to like people who want some control.

DJSH4KESParticipanthey otg thanks for your help! i used the online link to install java and it worked fine from there. I had tried a system restore before but my pc still popped up with errors and things were not running properly. Anyway the problems are sorted now I’ve got a newer version of java, thanks a lot you guys! your help was much appreciated
*btw about vista, i would not recommend anybody to use it yet as not many programs work with it, as xp is still around. Even programs like itunes (which only recently got sorted out) were not running properly and it’s been a headache since the day i installed it lol just to warn anybody thinking about getting it!

ASIO works, so why mess with it.
IMO, the only way to use a system with Vista on is to do a ‘dual boot’ an install XP just for DAW use.
