If you do have ACID Pro 5.0, and you don’t use the ‘Media Manager’ feature(barely anyone does) follow these steps to make your ACID program run about 20 times faster:
1. Go to Control Panels>Add or Remove Programs.
2. Uninstall Sony Media Manager 2.0.
3. Uninstall Microsoft SQL Desktop Engine(SONY_MEDIAMGR).
4. Open ACID Pro 5.0(ignore any error messages), select Options>Preferences, and un-check ‘Enable Media Manager(Requires ACID Restart)’.
5. Apply the changes, and then shut-down and re-launch ACID Pro 5.0. I recommend just rebooting your computer for best results.
This completely uninstalls the SQL Media Manager software that comes with ACID, and in my opinion is nothing but a memory and processor hog.
