I just bought a new PC, and with the better specs, I’m looking into buying some new software, specifically Acid 6.0 and Soundforge.

While pricing them out at several online venues, I noticed that some places have "academic" versions available for students and school faculty at very deep discounts.

Do any of you have experience with these "academic" versions? Are they functionally the same as the consumer version, and are their any licensing limitations that I should know about?

I’ve read the websites pretty thoroughly and cannot find mention of any differences. If anyone can offer some informed advice, I’d be glad to hear it. Thanks.

Usually the academic version is the same as the retail version.
