leandroParticipantNot only other records are being sampled, films are also.
The "Open Your Mind"-sample from Usura comes from Total Recall, this might be known already.
If you listen to 2 Unlimited’s "Tribal Dance" you’ll hear a voice saying "Say That Again" – this comes from Back To The Future (part 1).
It’s the scene where MJ Fox is locked in the trunk of a car.
Anyone else has some findings?

damuhParticipantIs this legal?
Or do you need some kind of copyright?AdSense 336x280January 4, 2009 at 11:55 am #661989
leandroParticipantI don’t think it’s legal, Quentin Tarantino wasn’t too happy when the Fun Lovin’ Criminals used parts of Reservoir Dogs and/or Pulp Fiction in their Scooby Snacks

Reggie_p75ParticipantYep..
Trendy head good 90’s movie maker Tarantino didnt want to license the samples to the FLC’s but insisted on being a co-writer of the song, therefore guaranteeing him a bigger slice of the pie
Can’t remember where I found that out but it mustve been on some late Channel 4 (UK) prog sometime, many moons ago cos it was a really big bone of contention to Huey Morgan cos he felt Tarantino wanted writers rights having realised the popularity of ‘Scooby Snacks’, therefore Huey Morgan wanted to rip Tarantino’s head off. And so, Tarantino got a big slice of a pie.Well he needs it now cos nearly all of his films in the last 10 years have been right piles of turd
