KelixParticipant-I didnt write this, I ran across it on the internet and thought I would spread the word-
Marc Spoon, one half of the techno-duo Jam & Spoon was found dead in his home a few days ago.
It’s sad; he was only 41 years old. Many of you probably know who Jam & Spoon are, but I’m willing to bet maybe the same amount of you do not. Jam & Spoon are responsible for one of the all-time greatest songs in electronic music history. A song called "Stella." If you were going to clubs/raves in the early 90’s, it really was impossible to not have heard this cut. They never had another hit or memorable song after that, but unlike other over-played anthems of the era like Jaydee’s "Plastic Dreams" and Aly-Us’ "Follow Me," "Stella" was a cut I never got tired hearing. To think that this tune, with it’s sultry vocal snippets(presumably voiced by someone named Stella) beckoning you with moans of "hold me" and "love me," actually got played at hardcore raves is a testament to how good it is. And to think it still sounds pretty good after all these years, too. It’s a masterpiece. Rest in Peace, Marc Spoon.
