Rage2007ParticipantRight this is going to be quite hard to explain but anyway :p
I have made a beat at 140 BPM but the acapella im going to put onto the track is 87 BPM, so obviously i changed the acapella to 140 BPM but it is well to speedy for how i want it to sound on my track!, i was just wondering what i could do to speed it down but make it sound right when it goes onto the track? Thanks

BuBaParticipantWhy don`t you adjust the beat at 87 bpm instead (if you made it that shouldnt be a problem)? You can always slice up the acapella and fit it to your needs if you feel that its too fast.

Rage2007ParticipantIts a bassline track, so it needs to be around 140bpm .. am i missing your point ? :S

BuBaParticipantDidn`t know that lol I dont know if you can have acapella at 140 bpm without speeding it up. Like i said before you can chop it up and fit to your song manualy.

Rage2007ParticipantAh okay thanks anyway

bentoczzParticipantWhy don’t you just change the tempo of the acapella to 70bpm, then it will be in sync with your 140bpm instrumental without having to drastically speed up the rap.

Rage2007ParticipantThats the kind of thing i needed to know :p But for some strange reason, my math made 140/2 = 80 😐 :/ Guess ive been away from school a little too long hehe thanks

ChicagoCheerFXParticipantTry laying the acapella down in Acid, use the beatmapping function with "elastique" stretching with the mode set on "Soloist"

YukmethParticipantAre there tempos of acapellas that would flow with other tempos of beats (without time-stretching)? For instance, could an acapella that is 104 bpm flow with a beat that is 74 bpm?

For instance, could an acapella that is 104 bpm flow with a beat that is 74 bpm? Some pella’s have a faster flow than others yet still will match the same speed.
For example, a chorus mite have a slower feel than a rap verse but keeps the same BPM.Its just trial and error to see how different vocals sound at different speeds.
If it sounds too fast to be humanly sung its probably a no-no but too slow can often sound just as wrong.AdSense 336x280June 25, 2010 at 4:13 pm #680490
ginterhParticipantWhat ever eat you have, try to get the acapella the same BPM or twice as small/large.
With fl it’s quite easy to sync them up w/o making the acapella sound funny.AdSense 336x280July 22, 2010 at 7:09 pm #681240
DjGcFresh410Participanthow would you splice it up to use major diff bpm songs.. seems like it would take forever?

[/quote:2hey16fj]You can try slowing your acapella down to 70 bpm … and see if it works over the 140bpm beat track. Sometimes that sounds great, other times it sounds like crap. Only one way to find out.
