NKPParticipantHI @ all
First of all. Im not a noob….
I have no problems with new acapellas…finding out the bmp…..making a remix……But if theres some old acapella from the 60ies…its impossible to find the right BMP because the bmp change after certain mount of time…..
So I got that old "Diana Ross & The Supremes – Keep Me Hangin On" Acapella…..
The BMP is between 127 and 128.
I tried software beatcounters like MixMeister BMP (it was 127.570)But with 127.570…only the first 20 seconds of the song sounds smooth….after that its too slow……so im trying 127.700……20 seconds later its to fast……
Yeah and everything in between sounds not right too
Its impossible to find the right BMP…..What do u guys do usyally in this case ?

coojuiceParticipantI think your easiest bet would be to chop up the acapella into suitable sizes so that you have more control over it.
I too am working on a 60s tune where the speed alters so I did this with audacity and played it through the NNXT sampler in reason. Sounds ok if you do it this way.
Hope this helps.

djtopcatParticipantuse a free online bpm counter and tap out the average tempo then just cut and splice to match each bar 😉
