JuggernautParticipantmate, seriously…would it not be easier to have all Q’s in one thread?
also, there’s no clear cut yes or no answer it’s down to user preference. some people use software (abelton live, serato scratch, traktor dj) some use cd players, some use normal turntables, quite a few use a mix of all of the above.
Do some searching on the internet through google, and search on here for old threads and come to your own conclusion. It’s not a clear cut answer (including your hip hop vs dance one) s’all down to personal preference. i know i’m repeating myself, just catering for two threads

*waits for someone else to voice their opinion too*

biggtymeParticipantit really depends on what you are into , if you are a dj who only uses turntables then you are going to be more comfortable with the vinyl , if you are a dj who does both production and djing then you can go either way. I personally have used pretty much all the ways and a combination, but i find if you do it live via vinyl or cds you basically get what you get but atleast with the different softwares you can fix it on the flow. I would just say stick with your strength if you are new to it and don’t be afraid to expirement if you have the time.
