acheadKeymasterHi there,
I’m fairly new to the whole music making thing, but have crossed that threshhold of initial learning with Logic Pro to the point where i’m now wondering what else i need to get in order to improve the stuff i’m making.I have an M-Audio keystation, a G5 and Logic Pro, but nothing else. Any suggestions as to other essential items, (hardware or software), that i may be missing?
Also, is there any software / hardware / techniques that i can use to make my sounds fuller? At the moment they are distinctly lacking in depth, i.e all the sounds seem to come from the same place when i’m listening in my headphones.
Thanks in advance
VeronicaPS: Am i the only girl on here?

JuggernautParticipantno, you’re not the only girl on here

I haven’t had time to really concentrate on making stuff lately, but when i did have time i’d have Reason and sometimes Live 4 (yes i know..it’s *old*) ReWired into Logic.
VST’s and AU’s etc. are always handy and – if you’ve got enough space for them – you can never have enough…the Korg Legacy is – imo – great as you get the wavestation that has a plethora of sounds you could spend ages going through, the polysix and MS-20 that adds nicely to the bog standard effects there are in Logic. Ofcourse there’s the LegacyCell itself which incorporates all of these and you can totally customise the components to make that ideal sound. You’ll probably get loads of people who know loads more than me in regards to techniques to fuller sounds (it does depend what you’re dealing with) but i tend to use Reverb and panning together to give things distance in a stereo field so it doesn’t sound so central and "busy" and dry/shallow.
You may also want to invest in a set of monitor speakers as stuff does sound real different when not in your headphones

Just my 2p

It should set you along the correct path of what you want to do, and explain a lot of questions that you will likely be asking yourself.
I hope somebody can give advice on what is best for the Logic + Mac question. And I personally think it’s good to have more women around. If only there was more.
