well this is interesting, a macine that will mix any songs that would fit just like that, what would you do? because i kno theres a lot of songs outthere that follow the same beat and patern its just finding the time and having the skill to do it. so if you’re like me then go ahead let the magic mixer do its job.

There is one. Last years series of ‘Dragons Den’ featured a 19-23 year old man who had created (and Patented worldwide) the algorithm to do just that. He set up his own mp3 store but his future plan was you also got the software if you became a member. Although, one of the ‘Dragons’ (the only one who invested) was far more interested in the algorithm being licensed to the likes of SONY etc… to replace DJ’s.

From what I remember, it automatically… timestretched, faded in and out, and matched the BPM in the demonstration he gave. And, I thought… "you clever *******" and with a smile on my face.

I can see it changing the way people hire DJ’s, and particularly in pubs and small clubs. This will be as a result of a Landlord (or Owner) trying to cut costs, and we know what happens when the ill informed want to cut something they have little knowledge about. It ends up full of either defensive comments, or arrogance.

But, I’m definitely with you about DJ’s (at least the good ones) who do special things (reading the crowd, playing with the sound etc etc..) other than just mixing.
