DJLVParticipantOK, I gave up looking for this online. I can’t find a single thing about this track. The good thing about the sample that I provided is that the rappers give their names. If you even have an idea about the name of the group, it would be of great help. It’s an old skool 80s? tune along the lines of Furious Five, Funky Four Plus One More, Treacherous Three etc…
The lyrics are "We Gonna Get Ya High". There is also a sample in the background that sounds like a faster version of the one used by the Young Gunz "Can’t Stop Won’t Stop". If you know the original track that was sampled, that could also help.
Thanks

DJLVParticipantThanks guys, I spoke to a friend who said they were not one of the groups based around NY but rather an obscure group that was trying to sound like the main groups of the time (these guys sound a lot like Funky 4, plus they also have a female rapper).
Are there any diggers out there that might have an idea?
Thanks

DaveTParticipantSounds very familiar but can’t put my finger on it.. But i’m 99% sure it’s a mid-80’s electro track, like the ones featured on the later editions of the ‘Street Sounds Electro’ comps.

DJLVParticipantThanks everyone. I forgot to post back to follow up on your suggestions, but needless to say, I came up empty. I looked through the entire Street Sounds Electro discography and couldn’t see any matches (of course I couldn’t listen so I can’t know for sure). I even tried Shazam and some other music match services but I think all the samples confused them and I got obviously wrong matches.
It’s definitely got that electro feel (more modern sounding actually which is what caught my ear).
