transc3ndParticipantOtherwise known as ‘pre-verb’, you’ll hear this on many a ‘spooky’ film as it sounds spooky to the max (eg 13 Ghosts employs it throughout the film). You can also use delay with this technique to create pre-delay
great tip lewelsch.Something to bear in mind if you’re trying to make a singular preverb, ie a long preverb up to the start of a synth sequence or vocal; if you want the preverb to be a clean almost-replica of the start of said synth / vocal, firstly, make sure you are only using the initial part of the sample (as the reversed bit you’re adding the reverb to)… eg, if you wanted to preverb up to the word "Always", make sure you are preverbing just the ‘A’ not the whole word (for obvious reasons this technique works best with words beginning with vowels rather than plosives… preverbing a ‘B’ sound will be gash!). Secondly, your preverb will sound weird and more like an fx from a completely difference sample pack UNLESS you make the reverb you’re using ‘flat’. By this I mean, turn off all the internal eq cuts / boosts on the reverb, this will give you a nice preverb that you can segue from seamlessly into the sound you are preverbing.

BUMBEATSParticipantwait- you reverse it twice? So you end up with a straight-forward (not in reverse), reverbed audio file, right?
