RichiePParticipantHave to say, never like Nelly when she first came out but this time around I reckon I’m warming to her tracks. I was a bit disappointed with the axwell mix so decided to go about creating an end of summer type funky house mix. Loads of pianos, strings and warmth. Let me know what you guys think

DJ LevantParticipantRichie P I am loving this remix, top stuff mate..
The funky style of the track goes really well with Nelly’s vocals. You weren’t kidding when u said their was "Loads of pianos, strings and warmth"
My only request would be a radio cut as I thought the intro & outro were a bit long. But again its an awesome remix!

RichiePParticipantCheers for the comments. All the tracks I make are DJ friendly as I use them in sets but I’ll try and make a radio mix soon

tim.gosdenParticipantLove it mate, really funky and good production!
Would like to have heard more development though, maybe add some stuff in, more filters etc.
Strings could do with a more "obvious" sample, more life sounding!
Other than that, wicked mix!
Tim.

Viktor KParticipantLove the direction you are taking right now mate, this remix is no exception.
You have your style and I love it!Interesting beat on this, real groovy and I can’t help myself nodding my head like a mad man when the bass line comes in 😉
Like Tim I would have preferred some more upfront strings, so they punch more since they play a nice melody.
Im doing a similair string part on a remix im working on right now actually. This is probalby your best remix yet (I really liked the "Party Starter" one though) and it’s really clean and nice work.
Did I say I love the piano?Anyway as a last tip I would say skip the mash-ups, I saw you did one or two and they were far from the quality of your original work in my opinion.
(and Axwell remix rocks in the right setting, it’s so hard and punchy
)Keep it up!

RichiePParticipantCheers, the mashups I did a while back were just done in my lunch hour at work on my laptop lol. Just needed something with vocals in for my set.
I haven’t really finished this mix tbh. I basically started it at about 10pm at night, went off to DJ somewhere from 11-2am and then got straight back on it when I got in, posted it straight up here at 3:30am. Should have really waited till morning and then worked on it a bit more after having a clean set of ears!
The strings I feel are the weakest part of it so I’ll probably reprogramme them a bit and compress them (the were chucked in uncompressed at the last minute).
Cheers again for the comments though, will work it up a bit more!

Viktor KParticipantHehe I know what you mean about late night producing. Is it only me or does all the inspiration come at night when producing tracks?
I have almost never started a song during the day from what I remember.AdSense 336x280September 18, 2006 at 11:46 pm #598704
RichiePParticipantYeah when I have a day of free time, inspriation only seems to come about an hour before I have to go do something!
I’ve updated it now with the strings slightly re-jigged but I’m starting losing paitence with it (probably down to it being late again lol):

Ben_Double_MParticipantHi Richie P, ..you did a nice job on this track! i will play it on radio ..soon…. but i just have a suggestion… if you could increase the voices level it would be perfect

[/quote:1ookrkv8]Yeah I played it out in the club for the first time last night and some of the levels certainly need tweaking. The chorus and verse vocals are on different tracks and I think somewhere along the way I dipped the chorus so will fix that. Also, their voices range in volume through the track annoyingly so will have to go through it all! Cheers for the play though
AdSense 336x280September 21, 2006 at 10:03 am #598914
DJ Nicky TParticipantHey Richie…this is great…the vocals could be increased slightly as they get lost in the background..apart from that great production…please tweak and repost as this would defo get played out.
Thanks
Good Work__________________________________
