kaliboreParticipantHi,
Okay so basically I am trying to make an Acapella from the track Wildfire by Jeni (Suk)
I am using audacity and this process is new to me. I am experienced with producing.
I have spent over 30 hours now to NO avail. I have watched so many tutorials and read so many articles, followed them step by step dozens of times and
just cannot seem to get his track to work. I have tried it with the original (vocal/music) combined with the instrumental, using the invert/phase processes also having split the
tracks to mono and re mixed them etc and other techniques. Installed the knockout VST etc. Also changing the high and low pass filters.I have made the music quieter somewhat but it is simply no where near as good as what I am seeing people achieve on the tutorials or anywhere near as good
as what you all have done here on the site.I need it for a project I am working on, so any help guys would be so appreciated. Thank you.

If they are both in a lossless codec (flac or something), and the instrumental is the exact same as the original but vocals missing, then when you do the phase cancellation only the vocals will be left.
But, if you do youtube rips it won’t be as good, and it hasn’t worked in my experience with fan made instrumental/kareoke versions. It has worked for me when a studio released an instrumental only version of an album.
You may be out of luck
