acapellaKeymasterFirst of all you might be thinking "WHAT?" – don’t worry if you are, we’re just talking about the naming conventions used within the acapella collection for acapellas containing swearing.
SO, this poll ONLY relates to the word that we sill use to describe the EDITED acapellas which don’t include the swearing.
For a while now we’ve been trying to stick to the standards (as we like to do around here) and if there are acapellas which have had the profanities (swearing to you and I) cut out then we label these acapellas as (clean_acapella).
I can understand to have the need for both the original and edited versions.. but is one more politically correct than the other..
Should we call them (radio_acapella) or just stick with what we have now which is (clean_acapella)
Your input on this would be greatly appreciated!

acheadKeymasterI was thinking clean may refer to the quality..
AdSense 336x280November 15, 2006 at 5:06 pm #603274
SeanzaParticipantHow about just naming the Explicit acapellas ‘Explicit’? Saves this hassle of choosing what to call an edited acapella lol!

PBParticipantHi, I should post both the original and the edited versions. People can shoose for themselfs witch one they would like to use. (If you want to give it a the edited versions a name, imho I also prefere "censored").
AdSense 336x280November 16, 2006 at 9:09 am #603341
DJ LevantParticipantI’d prefer to see it kept as ‘clean’ when refering to tracks that have been censored. With the explicit versions being ‘dirty’.

anisinaParticipantI voted Radio when the poll first showed, and I have a little time to explain why.
I have always seen Radio as something that is suitable for Radio and what the listener is unable to control.. i.e. The content and so on is suitable for all ages.
I also relate Clean with the way a sound is.. i.e. It is a good ‘clean recording’ in Audio Engineering terms.

djliljParticipantsimply "Radio" would be easy enough

You do have a point, it’s each to their own really. Clean means non-dirty in most cases apart from coming to music when it can mean 2 things when referring to a track.
But for me, when talking about a good recording, a would say clear before saying clean.
It is a tough choice though lol!

likewise. but i suppose "clean" is good enough, seeing as there are clean/dirty radio edits of some songs

DJZobeParticipantYup Clean is a more straight to the point of no cussing, vulgarities

DJ LevantParticipantB dat wrote:[size size=150:24u1lkz3]….most sites I’ve visited for downloadable audio use the term "clean"…just seems common enough to continue to use it….ps…kind of bogus on the 5 day wait for new accounts, but what have I got to do lol[/size:24u1lkz3]Please do not use such a large size of font, this can be seen as offensive on a forum.
