Naive Grey (The Kooks vs. AFI)

Great job! They fit very well, even though the styles of both songs are in fact quite different. The more upbeat instrumental gives a nice take on the more moody ’emo/goth’ singing of Davey Havok.

AFI used to be a local band here in the East Bay, CA, and a part of the local punk scene. I would see the members visiting the same bands playing at the Gilman that I liked. This song (and album) marked their first venture into mainstream music, and apparently they never looked back. I wish them well anyway, and the vocals are nostalgic.
