SolarliteParticipantHello all! This is a remix of "Set You Free" I’ve recently completed.
I’m used to doing more Hiphop type stuff but for the last few months I’ve been getting more and more into the four-to-the-floor bass drum and have made somewhat of a move to this style. As I still love rap, I thought it would be rude not to throw in a good measure, so that, I have done!
Not sure about the bit at the end. I’m so used to it that it sounds good but it may not work for you… Let me know, though. If you take a listen, let me know what you think!

Cheers.

SolidSharkParticipantwow this is very emotional remix mate, expecially the intro… interesting bells
I can tell someone has been playing around with the piano roll
nice the rap intro is totally cool. yes I am actually really happy you will get this played in a GIG. if i was a dj I would too actually, yeah to get more people attention hehe
cool remix mate! good bass, motivating, the loop bassdrums are allright 😉
my advice for you is to work on the rythems, the bassdrums, for some it may sound too annoying cause it keeps repeating, but its fine with me… hehe also effects are needed, u need to pull some upfilters and downfilters for better catchy tune 😉
keep it up dude!
who rap this by the way?

SolarliteParticipantCheers for the replies! Nice one, Pipsta, I appreciate that.
SolidShark, yeah, the drums are a bit repetitive. I may or may not work on this one, but in future I’ll think about that. I actually found the hihats quite annoying after listening to it 100 or more times, but couldn’t really think how to change them. The rap is by Pras Michel taken from the song "Ghetto Superstar".
Cheers fellas!

yeldarbParticipantHai there
I am a first time poster, long time lover of music who happened to stumble upon this thread randomly today. I’ve listened to your song and I think you’ve got a nice style and some cool combos that I personally would have never thought of // so props

jeyh87ParticipantIt’s a great mix :0)

SolarliteParticipantCheers for the replies fellas.
Yeldarb, I listened to your mix, and really liked the music. I didn’t think the acapella, however, fitted whatsoever. It sounded off beat as if it was just placed randomly over the track. Your part of the mix sounded really good though!

BattenParticipantJust listened too….
I like your idea but some of it I aint feeling. The rap does not sound right at the start. You have the cheesy riff but could make deeper, some more transitions – also around 2.40 ish chop up the vocal make it stutter a bit more.
I don’t wanna sound like I am putting it down as its a good idea but this song must have been remixed at least 40times over the years. I still have not heard a good deep mix.Well Done with your attempt
