My mashups- Feedback please

hey, you asked for honest feedback, so i’m gonna give it to you. don’t let it bring you down–listen through your mashup and try to hear the things that i’m pointing out.

okay so the song you begin with is in one key, and you’re teasing need u (100%) which is a minor third up from that. so the "mmmm" vocal sounds a bit suspended, unresolved. it doesn’t quite work for me, but when it’s just an isolated vocal motif that’s clashing, i suppose it’s a matter of taste. then you go into need u, but then the plucky melody thing you’re layering on top of need u doesn’t match up as it’s in the key a minor third below! the transition around 3:05 is messy, with rhythms out of sync. the strings in the track that comes in there clash with the chords of need u. it’s a bit of a sonic mess. i will stop there.

this mashup may have sounded okay to you because two minor keys a minor third apart do have some notes in common. the root (first note in the scale) of need u is the third note of the scale for the other song or songs. but can you hear how it’s just not right?
