factory presetsParticipantGot my 824s sitting on top of stacked up breeze bolcks. Sounds great but takes up a fair bit of room. 1st I had them stacked up to head height. But that put them about halfway between the floor and roof, which is not supposed to be a good thing. So I took out a layer and angled them up with wooden wedges. Then sat them on blobs of bluetack to decouple them from the wood.
Two heavy duty stands for under Au $40.

EnbeeParticipantSorry just realised what monitors you meant. Yeh they should be ok with the pads on a stand although the height of the monitors might make them unsturdy – havent tested with such large speakers! Nice Mackies though!

mike001ParticipantNo problems mate. Have got the stands & they do change the sound of my room, which was expected & better for my music.
As you say, they are a bit unstable when im bouncing around in my seat listening to a new bit i like even though they are filled with sand & the spikes are stood on so they become part of my floor boards. But i think they are doing there Job.
All i need now are some Bass Traps.

estaloca311ParticipantWhy don’t you make your own? Pretty straight forward you can save quite a lot and you can colormatch to the rest of your room.
Oops. Sorry. Just noticed that you already bought the stands. You can built your own basstraps though. If you’re interested in some diy acoustic treatment and a ton of good acoustics knowledge and advice google john sayer’s forum. It’s full to the brim with good info, plans and all kinds of cool stuff. DIY is also known to give a warm pleasure of accomplishment and fuller pocket as well
