In SilicoParticipantNope, not really. I use it for making tracks and mixes of tracks, but not for mixing songs together. I use Vegas for that.

silvershadowParticipanti use acid for everything it can possible be used for. intros, mix cds, remixing, radio ads, etc…

shawnnervousParticipantI have used Acid 3 & 4 to mix, but the mixdown is often flat, colorless and not clear, I’ve found bouncing each track out and mixing in another DAW a great advantage for clarity, depth and crispness. It’s like the coding for the mixdown (on 3 & 4 at least) was somewhat weak.

In SilicoParticipantIf yer sound ain’t right, don’t blame the software
I have ACID Pro 6, and the audio is clear as crystal. I don’t imagine it’s too different from v. 3 or 4 though, since the only updates were MID and Audio drivers.AdSense 336x280February 28, 2006 at 2:29 am #585905
shawnnervousParticipantPerhaps it is a difference in my familiarity w the programs. i don’t know. i was doing a mix for someone else…. who had recorded a project in acid. i love the beat mapper etc. i just posted a beasties remix i did in acid in 2003 in the pop ‘test pressing’ area. i loved it back in the day. still love it for certain tasks. And i love sound forge, and love vegas 4 video.

You must not be using ACID Pro then, there isn’t a whole heck of a lot about ACID Pro that is limited….recordable piano roll editor with 128 automatable MIDI CC controllers, multi-part MIDI file support, recognition of just about all MIDI or MIDI-Via-USB hardware, integration with any audio editing program, full 192/24 support with ASIO WDM and MME drivers….MetaData beatmapping for cross-computer mixing, what exactly were you looking for? It even comes with Native Instruments Xpress Keyboards plugins!
Ah well, if we didn’t do it for you with 5, we’ll surely get you with 6
