DJ_BradyParticipantWhy does he feel the need to re-release all of his hits again?
Elvis did it last year and had about 6 songs in the chart at once.. its a bit annoying.
Also has anyone seen the new Beatfreakz video " Somebody´s Watching Me "
Cool song cool video.
I think they sampled Jacksons voice and they have a midget dressed as him in the video.. its a great song..
They obviously took up on the idea off Hi-Tack Say Say Say..
Jackson seems to be everywhere musically atm. What you guys think?AdSense 336x280April 7, 2006 at 9:15 am #587972

He’s probably paid out a fortune in legal fees etc so perhaps by allowing some of his tunes to be re-done, he’s struck a deal to get a share of the royalties!Yeah.. I think I heard something that he´d been going near bankrupt.. its hard to believe that though since he´s worth millions.

Mr BlondeParticipantRockwell sang the tune you were talking about, however it does feature Michael as backing vocals.
I think that it’s quite funny when I’m out DJ’ing and play the originals of all of the tunes released today. I actually had someone comment on the Acoustic version of Eric Prydz – Call On Me that I played. I didn’t understand what they meant until I realised that they meant ‘Steve Winwood – Valerie’ which I had dropped in at the end of the night!!!
If you like this 80’s sampling stuff, I recommend listening to the Eric Prydz album, released under his Pryda guise (I think). It samples loads of 80’s tunes and is actually really quite good.Let me know what you think
Cheers

Mr BlondeParticipantI heard he owned the writes to ‘Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday To ….’ etc. I don’t know whether this is true, anybody know?

DJ_BradyParticipantTheres no acapella for this song either so the people did a good job of covering the beats or.. do you think since they asked for permission to use MJs vocals, that they were sent the vocals?
AdSense 336x280April 7, 2006 at 3:39 pm #587998
The CutterParticipantIt maybe that an acapella could exist for the rockwell song but it’s just not out on the net or they just used the imental cuz it has MJ’s vocal on the imental. I have the original 45 record for the song and it has the imental on it. Does anyone have the link to the beatfreaks version? I would like to hear it.
update 4-14-06: the imental does not have MJ’s vocal on it. So I decided to grab a quick snippet from both the orignal and the imental( in the same part of the song of course) and using the Vocal Extractions Method http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6806 Method #1 I was able to get rid of the lower frequencyand some upper frequency. So with a little more fine tuning you could probably get a workable pella.

It is like they took the concepts of 3 of MJ’s videos, (Thriller, Beat It and Bad). If you do find a good version of the tune please let me know. I am going to have to listen to the Rockwell version and compare it to the Beatfreaks version. I am really curious as to how they manipulated the original.

DJ ValParticipantI’m loving all the remixes of Somebody’s Watching Me. My favorite though has to be Ian Carey’s remix. He is a master af remixing and I’ve just finished doing a whole mix of just his remixes. It’s awesome.
Other remixes of this track other than Ian Carey and Hi-Tack include re,ixes by Dennis Christopher and E-Craigs 2006 mix which is too hardcore for me.thecutter wrote:Does anyone have the link to the beatfreaks version? hiphopfanParticipantAccording to ceefax "Michael Jackson has reached an agreement with music giant sony to help ease his money worries" it goes on to say "Jackson had been due to pay back $200m (£144m) in loans in december which were secured on the beatles back catalogue, jointly owned with sony"

RTFParticipantrodeoboy wrote:you would think paul mccartney would want to buy this.its mad innit not owning your own tunes and having them bandied aboutHah! That would be perfect payback for Paul to get back at MJ for yoinking the Beatles catalogue. I really hope that happens. It’d be like when you’re losing at Monopoly and all of a sudden the other guy lands on your biggest, most expensive property.
