djdyvurseParticipantI’m I the only one who seems to care that Master P is on Dancing with the Stars? I mean, c’mon!!!! This dude had the rawest songs out back in the day. (Time to check my crack house, anyone?) And now he’s ballroom dancing? And for some reason he won’t wear ballroom shoes. P, you already on the show. You might as well wear the shoes.

MelParticipantWhat???
P was the hardest dude out at one time. Hell, No Limit ran the late 90s. And yes, I remember “Time To Check My Crack House, My Crack House, My Crack House…”
Man, when P fell off, he fell off hard. He’s the only emcee I know who fell off twice. I didn’t even think it was possible to fall off twice, but P proved me wrong. No Limit fell off, and then the New No Limit fell off. And its about to be a third time with this Dancing With The Stars crap.

vice versesParticipantwhen on earth did no limit run the 90’s!!!?
i mean sure we all had a laugh at the pen and pixel photoshop album cover adverts in the source, with laughable airbrushed watches on dogs necks (yes its tru…check snoops… da game is to be sold!!!)
master p an mc!?… i dont think so im afriad, shouting ungghhhh on a song doth not maketh an mc.
id give him 10 out of 10 for marketing but maybe a 2 for originality or skill,
(feel a back lash coming here!! lol)

djdyvurseParticipantIn the south P ran the 90’s. The east coast and the rest of the world, he probably just got laughed at. P was around in the same decade that Outkast got booed at on the source awards in. If No Limit blew now, he pro’lly would run shit. ‘Cuz it’s not that hard nowadays. (Girl shake that Laffy Taffy…)

MelParticipantWhat I said was that he ran the late 90s (from 97 – 99). He had to, cause think about it. If its six billion people on planet Earth, and 14 No Limit release went platinum, you can’t say that only 14 million people in the south bought his albums. And not only that, if cats from the east / west were laughing, then how do you justify his West Coast Bad Boys albums, or cats like Nas, Foxy Brown, and Cam’Ron working with him. Feel me?
And what exactly is an emcee? It pisses me off when people start trying to answer this question. Before the "machine" took over hip hop, an emcee was whoever had the guts to spit on wax. All you needed was a dope dj or beat and words that rhymed. Too Short was considered an emcee, and he’s probably the worst rapper alive.
Nowadays, these fake critics and the corporate world try to put a label on emceeing. "Your lyrics have to be complex," "You have to be witty," "You have to shout out Pac and Biggie," blazay, blazay. But if everybody did these things, hip hop would be quite boring. Just like you got everybody doing the same ol’ club, bling-bling shit now…and its boring.
Master P is an emcee. Whether he sucks or not is opinionated. To tell you the truth, I didn’t like him that much either. But truth is, he ran the late 90s.
