random1234567890ParticipantI tried to do the reverse: make an acapella using the original and the instrumental. I tried to do it using the "Noise Removal" tool and a few other ways, but in the end the program does no better than any other way of making it; all it sees are frequencies in the same range and so it deletes them.
There might be another way to do it, but I haven’t had much success.

spacetigerParticipanthah it’s a nice thought but i don’t think it’ll happen

aaronv2Participantif you had the original and a copy of the acapella and bear in mind they will need to be the exact same vocal track used in the original… then in theory you could invert the acapella and mix it with the original to cancel each other out.

JuggernautParticipantPretty much no.
Even if you had the original WAV’s of the original track and the acapella the frequencies where the voice "clashes" with other frequencies of other instruments will result in a fairly crappy end result.
It is do-able, but depending on the presence of the vocals, you could end up with an un-usable "instrumental"

BeletoParticipantit works just like the diy acapellas work, but they REALLY have to be the same exact quality and it’s a lil harder to match em up. i used acoustica mp3 audio mixer to line up the tracks and utagoe to invert them and this is what i got

Synthetik FMParticipantIt can be done. You need to load the original instrumental into acid, beatmap it … then load the acapella and set it as beatmap, original tempo the exact same as what you used on the instrumental … then you will need to line them up as close as you can get, and then play around with the start offset. You will need to listen for a flanging (whoosh) sound with the vocals, that’s when you know you got it on the mark. hard pan left and right, render a wav, then phase cancel the thing.
