Yes, I’ve had an offer to send some of my work to a record company. I’m thinking that DJ Val dosen’t really have a good ring to it as a producer name.
I quite like the alias. The Sphinx

Any other genuine names that any of you can suggest would be really appreciated.

Val I say keep ‘DJ Val’. It’s hard coming up with a new name – remember its got to be original and ‘you’ at the same time.

In my opinion DJ Val is great!!

i agree with levant,"dj val" is just fine. if that’s what you go by normaly, then keep it. coming up with new names is difficult, and i’ve seen friends change there name several times through out there "dj’ing career", because they jump into a new name and later decide it doesn’t fit them or they just don’t care for it anymore. i’ve had only two alias’ in all my time doing the music thing, one for dj’ing and one for production. besides, simple is good.

keep us updated though as to what you decide on.

Ya, I personally think that you should stick with DJ Val if that’s what you use for most of your stuff. Like me, I don’t have any other names but NVS for music stuffs (beside my actual name but I usually put the album title as NVS then).

Well, I agree with the others, too (DJ Val is who you are). But I will also throw out some ideas as you’ve suggested.

If you like the alias Sphinx, you can try mixing them like DJ Val-Sphinx, or something along these lines.

Also, this just came to my mind. DJ Val by itself is fine, indeed. But you also have to consider distinctiveness. There’s already a "DJ Vlad" who happens to be very hot right now in the mixtape circuit.

I know that this is an old post but I agree that you should keep your original name but change it ever so slightly. DJ VALERE( with a little squigly line over the first e)- it means to be strong. Considering what you have been going through lately I think it is totally appropriate because you are.
