I was speaking to a guy online that was doing the radio show for my local radio, nearly the only English station in Spain on the Coast and he said send the mix to his email and when he gets home, in about half an hour or so he´ll have a listen, so I sent him some of my best ones… Not that they are good but hopefully he´ll enjoy them, he said If he likes them maybe I could drop round to the studio with a cd and he´ll have a listen

This is pretty cool and if he does like it, it means I can be a frequent dj with new mixes played off their radio so I can use them as a source.. and who knows he might let me drop in some of you guys mixes

Im probably getting ahead of myself but I´ll post back when Ive gotten a reply, hes working now but as I said hes gonna listen when he gets home.. pretty soon..

What you guys think? Is this good for me?

Thank you, Ive spoken to three djs from it today, two of them are going to respond soon to my email they said.
I asked one did they want a mix and he said Faithless – Insomnia with Armand Van Helden – Into Your Eyes

I only have the acapella of Faithless at the moment, but Ive done a pretty okay job so far, I added a beat to the Arman Van music.. and used echo effects on Faithless to break it down..

The mix Ive sent them is a megamix with some of my mixes parts here and there, and this one dj will, hopefully play my Faithless mix.. I´ll post it soon guys 😉

I did tell him this wasnt my proper mix, but a quickly made Megamix to show what ive done.. but he doesnt like it so oh well.. shame..

heres his reply..

your mix is very messy sounds like music for an arcade game the idea
with mixing is that it flows,and its very difficult for people to
tell there is another tune coming in, your mix is not like that to
many gaps not enough continuity sounds like its been done on a
pc.what were you trying to achieve by running popcorn over vocals.
its not the type of tune that would be played in clubs,and it is not
radio friendly.i dont wish to critizcise what you have done, but it
is a bit of a mish mash i did tell you when i chatted with you on msn

I told him I can send him some full mixes I did like Eminem – Stan or Gabrielle – Dreams were theres no mixing from song to song involved what are you thoughts if you want I can try up the megamix it must be crap though

That’s a shame. Still, local radio is only one outlet and at least you’ve made contact there. Now you can always go back to them when you have something more finished and polished.
Obviously it’s up to you what you do next, if you have some killer material maybe you should send it in, but personally I’d leave it a while before sending another mix his way.
Have you approached any internet radio stations?
They are often quite responsive and open to new music.
Anyway, sorry to hear this one didn’t turn out how you hoped. Good luck in the future.
