NVSParticipantHey,
Ok, so… I got my mic hooked up and my headphones plugged in so I don’t get background noise from my speakers when I’m recording. But when I record a new piece you can still hear the music in the background… Even if I have my speakers off, headphones off, when I replay the newly recorded piece I can hear the music in the background… I’m using Adobe Audition 1.5 by the way. Anybody have any ideas how to fix this?

jinksy katzParticipanti think your problem is you might have another track goin on at the same time or something in your program is causing cross talk…if you were using anologue tape this we be called bleeding my boy was udimg audition at one time and had the same problem…it a real strange program ……

NVSParticipantThat must be what it is then… because I have the main track playing (for beats obviously) while I record the new track. I could try playing the main track in a different program and try recording. If that don’t work I’ll just use Creative to record it then. Thanks!

anisinaParticipantTrying it on another piece of software is the best route. If you still get the same problem, then it is most likely to be either the souncard settings or the soundcard itself. Electronic circuitry has ‘crosstalk’ also, but the better the ‘card, the lower the ‘crosstalk’ usually.
If you don’t already do so, I would strongly suggest turning off the CD/DVD, and any other inputs, in the ‘card mixer/settings to reduce interference etc…

NVSParticipantYa I can just play the main track in Audacity, and it worked fine. You could still hear it a little bit but I had to have my speakers and track turned all the way up and even then it was very faint, so it’s no problem. Thanks everyone for the help!
