acapellaKeymasterShall I start the ball rolling then?
Hi Eric…
I’m more of an electro-house head of late rather than a str8 4/4 houser but I guess that’s how my tastes have developed after having had enjoyed a stint of producing + releasing breaks (couple of cheeky bootlegs out – goto juno.co.uk and search for ‘pilch play’)
Got a forthcoming track out as TheOfficials on KidMassive’s label, Soundslike, very shortly will feature huge remixes from Playmaker and KM himself.

lewelschParticipantOH YES, since +/- 1985:
Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Frankie Knuckles, Fast Eddie, Tony Humphries, Steve "Silk" Hurley, and and and.If you want hear Radio HOUSE Mixes from 1984 to today:

PS:
In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove.
And from this groove came the groove of all grooves.
And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldy declared,
"Let there be HOUSE!"
and house music was born.
"I am, you see,
I am
the creator, and this is my house!
And, in my house there is ONLY house music.
But, I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes OUR house and OUR house music!"
And, you see, no one man owns house because house music is a universal language, spoken and understood by all.
You see, house is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you’re deep into the vibe of house.
House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body.
And, as I told you before, this is our house and our house music.
And in every house, you understand, there is a keeper.
And, in this house, the keeper is Jack.
Now some of you who might wonder,
"Who is Jack, and what is it that Jack does?"
Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body!
Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake.
Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm.
Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body.
Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house.
You may be black, you may be white; you may be Jew or Gentile. It don’t make a difference in OUR House.
And this is fresh. This Acaps: go to Acapella search ant copy&paste= fingers_inc

DJ ValParticipant
Oh that Jack

eric sharpParticipant"Love Can’t Turn Around" by Farley J.M. Funk was the track that made me fall in love with house music. It’s been the best lover I’ve ever had!
I think that Jack’s Groove might be the acapella I’ve heard the most, and I never seem to get sick of it. I was so jazzed when I found it on vinyl…been rocking it ever since.
AdSense 336x280January 16, 2006 at 10:08 pm #583235

EdParticipantHey hey, yeh I’m into house although am not really up to date with what’s going on at the moment in terms of releases etc. Too old to go out raving these days —
AdSense 336x280January 18, 2006 at 4:06 am #583307
eric sharpParticipantruined by pointless loops…amen!
there are still a few producers holding it down though…you just have to dig like crazy to find the good shit.
AdSense 336x280January 18, 2006 at 5:16 am #583309
djxsParticipantaaahh, funky-filtered-disco-tech-electro-progressive, I love it all!:)
AdSense 336x280January 19, 2006 at 7:10 pm #583404
playmakerParticipantI both agree and not, there is still a lot of goood house music out there. I’ve been feeling the house since the beginning(and producing a few years too), and I agree to that genres is so mixed up these days. Electro , Progressive, Breaks etc.
When hearing tracks like Julien Jabre – Swimming Places (Defected) or Soul Central’s "Need You Now" I can hear a lot of the LOVE and the old classic house is back, and it really pleases me!

AdSense 336x280January 19, 2006 at 7:38 pm #583406
eric sharpParticipantHell yeah! Swimming places is one of my favorites at the moment…I like to drop that with the Martin Luther King "I have a dream speech" acapella over it.
AdSense 336x280January 19, 2006 at 7:43 pm #583408
playmakerParticipantThat sounds like a perfect match to me
AdSense 336x280January 20, 2006 at 4:14 pm #583445
tim.gosdenParticipantI think that some of the new funky house is far to cheesy/commercial though!
Soulful house is what its all about really!
AdSense 336x280January 20, 2006 at 5:32 pm #583447
eric sharpParticipantHmmm…what do you define as soulful house? Not just rhetoric; I have heard so many different definitions that anytime anyone mentions the term I try to clarify. IMO, some of the cheesiest house falls under the soulful category.
AdSense 336x280January 20, 2006 at 8:42 pm #583449
playmakerParticipantI got a great book tip for you that want to go thru the history a bit, it’s simply called "House" with the undertitle "the rough guide". It’s by an author called Sean Bidder. It covers more or less everything
(can be good for you Tim too 😉 ) I should watch my mouth a bit when talking about how much the genres is crossing over each other, and i’m not the hugest fan of that, but.. refering to the link with one of my latest remixes, that is more on the club tip he he. Still trying to keep some sort of LOVE in it tho….
Am I the only one that is getting Tired of the Angello/Ingrosso sound now??

RitchieRich, you are so right, Soulful house is just one of the "new" genres that’s been going on for a while.
Me recommmends the Penetrate Deeper album from Deep Dish. Mid 90’s so it’s still not from the beginning, but is VERY VERY good
