Funky MunkyParticipantHello all
My straightforward "Re-Work" of Hot Chip’s latest can be found now on YouTube
Unfortunately there’s no acapella out there but the original is sparse enough to work with
Ive been reading these boards for ages but this is the first thing Im asking for an opinion on

All feedback welcome

coojuiceParticipantI love the song but it’s VERY similar to the original.
If anything it’s probably more DJ friendly as it has a better kick to it.
As TimmyJ said, any chance of a downloadable version?;)

DvJParticipantI am digging that track, great work. It has a great groove going on
AdSense 336x280March 11, 2008 at 9:24 pm #645249
djshadesukParticipantI like it. I wouldn’t have listened to the original version but this re-work builds on the original sound to make it a little more interesting… and appealing to my ears!
Like TS said the re-work makes it more DJ friendly and gives it more of a viable chance to get played in a bar/club.
Given that all you had to play with is the original version of the track I’d say it was a very good effort indeed!

Funky MunkyParticipantThank you all

If anyone requires an Mp3 version PM your email addy
AdSense 336x280March 16, 2008 at 9:49 pm #645568
djshadesukParticipantI’d like a copy of this but I hate randomly giving out my email address. Just like I never randomly give out my mobile phone number (Unless it happens to be a hot chich thats asking, but that doesn’t happen… often!).
Any chance of posting the MP3 to a online file host? Even one that requires a password to download the file? You could then PM the URL and password to everyone that has expressed an interest in downloading it and it would still remain ‘secure’.

Funky MunkyParticipantHopefully this link is ok with the powers that be
http://www.zshare.net/audio/87845809985549/
There are several sounds added to the original, some more subtle than others and the vocal in inserted here and there. The best way of hearing this remix is to play the original first and then listen to this 😉
Thanks all for the feedback
Another one coming soon (this time an RnB track will be given the House treatment

djshadesukParticipantCool, got it thanks! Sounds far, far better than the YouTube vid version.
Look forward to hearing your next effort!

Funky MunkyParticipantTa Shades
The MP3 is 130 bpm, the video is 128 to match up with the original footage
It goes slightly outta sync towards the end of the video as I made some changes
Some excellent constructive feedback on this forum
Cheers again

ccelsonParticipantCurious as to where and if you got the acapella, or if you sidechained out some frequencies. Let me know

)There was no acapella to be found but I looped and utilised the first bar of the original which is accapella

LUMParticipantyou didnt really do much to it!

Funky MunkyParticipantLUM wrote:you didnt really do much to it!When I remix a track I keep my dancefloors in mind – every other remix I heard of the tune was too "out there" for the commercial clubs I play in so I kept it simple
As said before there was no accapella to get stuck into in properly.
what was added:
2 different kickdrums, a shaker, a bassline, a "swoosh" (lol), handclaps, the intro vocal was inserted in different places here and there, some FX and more besides.
if you listen to the original and the remix you’ll here the big difference – the new bassline alone is a new riff in itself
As a mainstream DJ the best remixes for me are always the ones that stay faithful to the original song. All the "alternative" remixes clear the commercial floors everytime.
Hope this helps clarify things
