Hi everyone,
I’m doing a remix of Hall & Oates – Out of Touch, so I’m trying to get just the vocals / acapellas for this.
I’m using Ableton Live 9 and am having a difficult time getting anything useable. I’m using EQ Eight followed by Multiband Compression… but still there’s too much going on.
Maybe if there was an instrumental version I could do the opposite phase / subtraction process.
Any tips?
Thanks.

Well, you can get the chorus vocals this way:
The opening bars of the song have an instrumental version of the chorus, which can be laid atop the corresponding vocal bits and phase inverted to isolate the vocals.
As for the rest, no idea … unless you could find a 12" mix of the song that has an instrumental part of the verses and use the method above.
EDIT: This may help …

Perhaps there’s material in these which will let you extract all the vocals.
