… 16gb of music seem to be gone.
Does anybody know how to recover files or a whole system?
My whole mixes and even the new mixtape is gone for now……
Im tryin it with "GetDataBack" at the moment…will be finished in about 20 hours……holy shit

I re-installed windows xp and made a fault by selecting the wrong partition…now the folger with my own files is gone…..

Would appreciate some hints about good recovery software,
Thx peeps…

btw: The mixtape release will be canceled for now. Need to re-do all my stuff first….damn.

djpuente I have a friend in Scotland who will be probably be able to give some help. He is normally a genius at this kinda stuff. Unfortunately his harddrive is in for repair so he is offline for now. His wife does allow him the use of her pc every now and then to read his e-mails
I’ll get an urgent message to him and see if he can help out. Although a wizard about pc I can’t promise 100% this kind of thing is his field, but we’ll try.
Also I’m sorry this has happened to you, nobody deserves this kind of thing, I must backup my stuff. Anybody know of the best and fastest way/format to back up stuff and what stuff should be backed up.

Val, sorry, just read ur msg.
Ma advice would be to get an external hard drive if u dont hav it already & only switch it on when needed, thatz what I’ve dun, all ma important stuff iz on that.

I just bought an external drive so that this kinda stuff wouldnt happen again….
Im kinda sad but more disappointed that i cant show u the mixtapethe next dayz cause it has almost been done.
I will try to recover as much files i can.
WOuld b glad about some PM Val when u know more fro ya friend.

This is the reason you should always back your stuff up. If your doing a lot of stuff you should back it up every month. Better safe than sorry.

Was your hard drive erased? If not see if you can do a file search. Maybe if you can find one file you can find the rest.

sorry to hear that puente. Man, I had the same shit happen to me about a couple of weeks ago, that’s why I’m on a brand new computer now. Fu*ckin lost 700 MB of info. I know it ain’t as bad as yours man but I had hella remixes that I made that can never be replaced. Maybe you should take your HD to a place to get the info off of it. Lotta places will save your info to disk for you after a crash.

Hey peeps,

i got almost all of my data back!!!!!!!!
I used the software: GetDataBack for NTFS V3.01

All MP3s still work as if nothing happened tho i formatted the whole drive.
VAL, i think my spam filter caught ya email, tho thx for the support!!!!!!!!

Will work now on the mixtape to get it out soon….damn im so happy now

I just bought a 250GB hard drive for 90 € and put all stuff on there.
I guess to recover all stuff of mine will take 2 months LOL

puente really pleased for you mate. Great that GetDataBack did the trick. Anyways I’m glad you got most of your files back. My mate has just lost all his stuff for a 2nd time in as many weeks. I asked him if he used anything to get all his stuff back. He couldn’t get it back. I asked him to look around for you on his wife’s pc. He’s glad I asked as he’s gonna be trying this out when he gets his pc back, so happy people all around.
