Hi. I am doing a school project about intellectual property, censorship, online surveillance, and all that fun stuff.

I just wanted to know if Acapellas4u was ever under fire from any organizations regarding sharing intellectual property, or if there are any current threats to the site.

Any veterans here who can divulge any details would be greatly appreciated!

I dont really have any involvement with that side of things, but as far as im aware the worst i heard of is a record company asking us to remove
a certain artists work from the database.
Its a non profit site, the pella’s are not for sale which helps us keep running.
Im guessing the record companies realize we’re not really a threat, and their acapella’s are not usually available for sale so they not losing sales.
They will of course be interested if someone uses the pella without their permission on a song and starts making money from it.

A positive to the site surely would be big names like the Cut Up Boys using the pella’s on their albums which will be earning the companies cash.
Just my opinion.
