Gnarles Barkley / Dangermouse

I’m not really a big fan of Dangermouse’s production but the beat he did for "Social Distortion" by Prince Po (featuring MF DOOM) is pretty nice.

From my understanding, Gnarls Barkley is actually some poet who supposedly inspired both Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo. At least, that’s what I got from the interview with Cee-Lo. The interview wasn’t very clear.

Anyway, I heard that “Crazy” song and thought that it was a lot like Andre 3000’s “Hey Ya.” I had mixed feelings about the song—almost like the song you love to hate. It’s cool, I guess. At least its different.

i think the all over census is that he’s a solid rapper. Been around for a while.. mainly underground.

I thought gnarles barkley was a play on the nba star charles barkley

Gnarls Barkley being a play-on-words from the name “Charles Barkley” is obvious. What I was saying is that I think there really is a poet named “Gnarls Barkley” who influenced both Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green. If I’m not mistaking, read this on allhiphop.com.
