avalonandonParticipantGeorge, George, George….omg.
Confusing OPEC for APEC… Austrian soldiers for Australian…on and on…
I love my country. I support our democracy. But I apologize for our "President" and have given up hope that someone, at some point, would step forward laughing and proclaiming it was all just a joke…
But I, as you , and almost six billion other evolved individuals sit watching…
in shock and disbelief.

avalonandonParticipantspear3 wrote:yeah he has no excuse for being stupid, he needs a Darwin Award. no never mind the USA needs a Darwin Award for electing him.Yes, and I have MUCH to say about that too…but I will condense.
The "religious right" in the United States came out in unbelievable, full force in the last two elections…and yes, it is a disgrace to the left leaning, "evolved" masses that far far outweigh them in number!! The organization, resolve and follow thru of the fundamentalist supporters gives testament to the dangerous power of idiocy.
With that said, I was raised a fundamentalist Christian. I believe in the teachings of Christ…not in the self serving, self righteouss distortions thereof…and the grossly uneducated, misinformed theology of hatred that has grown out of the American, Christian, fundamentalist movement. Christ himself would turn his back on their ideals.
On a positive note, I will say masses of millions of Americans are thirstily awaiting the 2008 elections…INCLUDING THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT!!!! We long, as does the rest of the world, to see someone respectible, mature, evolved and capable, put into the office of the currently most "powerful" nation on earth. (And I say that with immense humility and respect for my brothers world wide.)
AT the end of the day, WE ARE ALL ONE. I long for the day when separate nations no longer exist. Ideologies and diverse "religions" find unity and solidarity in culture, progress and evolution.
And again, as I have said many times…we, as musicians have one of the greatest powers available to mankind. The endless, emotive power of MUSIC, to influence positive, permanent change.
LOVE, my brothers and sisters.

spear3Participantyes true, in fact i would love to have a chat with you, you are clearly an educated theist and within my peers i have very few who refuse to debate on any reasonable grounds being they are just cattle and do not know why they believe what they do, ifyou have an aim or msn listed on your profile i will be contacting you for a "discussion"because there is much i dont understand about christianity and more specifically catholics as a community.

[zbizzy]ParticipantOprah has for the first time, fully endorsed a presidential candidate, Barack Obama
should be interesting to see how that works out… she’s supposedly one of the most powerful women in the world, so…

22AParticipantTo be fair, that was a pretty curly question at best. Easy enough to come up with a half decent answer to the tribal-federal ideal relationship part but "what does tribal sovereignty mean today"? That’s straight up difficult. I’ve spent a good part of the last two years studying that exact topic and I’d need five minutes to plan an answer.
That’s not to say I’m endorsing George Bush. I think he’s a moron. But yeah, I think very few people would come out looking good answering that question on the spot.

jefpeaceParticipantspear3 wrote:yeah he has no excuse for being stupid, he needs a Darwin Award. no never mind the USA needs a Darwin Award for electing him.No, we didn’t elect him, the Electoral College did … he stole the first term and bought the second.
Please, don’t let Bush be the mark by which you judge Americans … then again, I’d have to say that a lot of Americans are bigoted idiots just like the imposter in the White House, especially the ones that visit other countries and feel entitled to extra priveleges because they’re Americans … okay, please don’t judge ALL of us by the actions of the WORST of us.
Man, it’s getting harder and harder to be an honest American.
btw … I’m an original American … 3/4 Cherokee and 1/4 French … which I guess makes me my own worse enemy.

jefpeaceParticipant22A wrote:"what does tribal sovereignty mean today"? That’s straight up difficult. The honest answer is that it means virtually nothing to the Federal Government and everything to the various tribes.
My mother received a check for a little over $30,000.00 when I was a teenager along with a letter on White House stationary apologizing for the Trail of Tears.
I will never lose the respect she earned from me on that day when she placed the check, the letter and a reply to the effect that money could not replace what her people lost in an envelope and mailed it back.

anisinaParticipantAnd it’s certainly no different in the UK.
All government policies are ‘persuaded’ to come into force by the use of eeeeerrrrrrrrr….. donations.
Peter Hain, head of DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) received money he did not declare (pleading it was an ‘administrative error’) towards his recent campaign for Deputy Leader of the labour party. Now, his department’s mantra in the advertising campaign regarding benefit fraud is…. No Ifs, No Buts.
Politicians…. all the bloody same. Snout in trough, and the snout gets longer and longer.
Don’t start me on the tories.

jefpeaceParticipantYeah, but OUR devil is more evil than YOUR devil, so there. *phfffft*

Seriously, though, I am right there with you. They’re all corrupt by the end if they didn’t start out that way.

gumdrop32ParticipantTruth will come to light eventually about our government regardless of what country we’re living in.
AdSense 336x280December 5, 2007 at 6:26 pm #638538
rswerdonParticipantHe’s a bad president, but I feel like it’s blown out of proportion. There have been worse in the past. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’re going to have a good president this term. It’s like everybody who wants to be president is an ass. I like Ron Paul though.
I’m sick of the religion pushing that’s going on in the white house right now. The worst thing about George Bush is that he’s ruined all comedy for the past 8 years and the majority of the jokes about him are pretty stupid to me. Except the ones on 30 Rock are funny.
AdSense 336x280December 6, 2007 at 1:59 am #638587
jefpeaceParticipantI don’t even know how to respond to that except to say I disagree … there has never been a worse President and Bush’s shortcomings have not been blown out of proportion, in fact, if not for the propoganda machine working overtime … ah, nevermind.
I just hope he doesn’t find a way to buy a third term.
AdSense 336x280December 6, 2007 at 10:15 am #638612
aj-smsParticipantThere is one thing for sure. He most definitely is not the best.
AdSense 336x280December 6, 2007 at 5:45 pm #638657
cameronc650ParticipantI don’t think anyone can complain in having Bush for President…….
it’s his second term.He must be doing something the American people like.AdSense 336x280December 7, 2007 at 2:42 am #638706
jefpeaceParticipantOne more time … the American People DID NOT elect Bush either term. He lost the popular elections BOTH times.
AND … we have a LOT to complain about regarding the imposter in the White House and his world view.
