avalonandonParticipantIn the words of the almighty Winston himself, "The only thing to fear is fear itself". In this time, I cannot think of a more apt and deeply penetrating statement. Anyone who studies philosophy, theology, psychology or sociology will emerge with the same notion that FEAR IS THE ABSOLUTE OPPOSITE OF LOVE. Why has American policy failed? Because George has not seen thru the hatred and realized that the only solution is to act with diplomacy, openness, seeking, forgiveness, insight, LOVE LOVE LOVE. Ok…this does not for one second mean that I believe that we should pat Osama on the back and ask him for tea!!!
But a wise leader would see thru the FEAR of Al Qaida and understand the incredible depths of historical….fear and conflict…and act like a leader and not REACT like an imbecile!! He would reflect upon the words of our fellow mankind…inspite of the horrible ways they act upon them…and try to LISTEN. A true leader would see the whole conflict leading all the way back to Jacob and Esau…and know that Esau acted out of jealousy(FEAR) in clutching the heel of Jacob..and it has never stopped. But the proper approach and response for Jacob…and all of the non extremists is to turn and offer a hand in return. To love. to equate with the lesser. to equalize the polarity. NOT TO CONTINUALLY SUBVERT AND IGNORE…WASTE AND DESTROY !!!
So much of what the terrorists are proclaiming is TRUE!!!! We have become a wasteful, murderous, decadent and irresponsible society!! And they are right in proclaiming so. Not at all correct in their actions…and this is where SOMEONE HAS TO STOP THE OUTRAGE!!!! SOMEONE HAS TO STOP THE CYCLE!!!! Sure its proper to recognize a wrong doing. But what did the Christ, the idol of George bush do in the face of assault???? He turned the other cheek and reached out with his own life as a sacrifice and loved…LOVED and forgave. What would have happened if GW bush had responded with a sincere effort to understand and try to reach the source of an unprecedented onslaught of terror , rather than childishly and irrationally lashing out (in FEAR AND HATRED) to create more troubles for mankind? NOT TO AGREE OR CONDONE the horrific acts of terrorism upon the US and our beloved UK!! But to not act like a backwoods Texan, ignorant and raging like a rabid dog with no control or direction. THIS IS AN ONGOING SOURCE OF THE ONGOING TERRORISM
I am patriotic. I believe in my country’s values and constitution. I support my troops. But I also recognize…black, white, persian, mongolian, indian, etc etc etc….WE ARE ALL ONE!! No this is not some fucked up tree hugging fantasy that exists only in the minds of the idealistic, religious idiots!!!! It is a quantum physical, philosophical fact that is inescapable and will haunt us until the day we finally ALL , ALL OF US, SEE IT. BELIEVE IT. LIVE IT. Then "us" becomes "I" and "me" …no longer will exist….. the hate and FEAR that Sir Winston so rightly identified as our greatest woe shall fade as a legend of long ago.

JuggernautParticipanti’ve only read half of that because it’s a huge paragraph and i can’t read it all without starting to get a headache (not you just the way of the internet and i have a massive screen and can’t get used to it).
Whilst most of it is true, it’s not down to just bush. he’s merely a puppet as is the government and the media. to create panic and fear amongst one nation’s citizens is to have overwhelming power over what they would like to consider as "their own opinions" (when really they’ve been swayed by the incredible force that is media)..
I’d also like to say sodom and gomorrah however i don’t really feel it’s 100% right given the context but still worth a mention.

avalonandonParticipantLol…sorry for the unbelievable rant. I just got so incredibly angry last night over all of this and went off. And Sodom and Gomorrah is an interesting analogy….however, I think it is more like Babylon falling than anything else.

It always amazes me when people say ‘we don’t negiate with terrorists’, Why not?!? maybe if we did we could reach some sort of compromise and stop them from trying to blow us up. Politicians say the terrorists hate our way of life, which may be true but i think it has more to do with our constant interfering with theres. I gennerally dislike all politicians regardless of there agenda, but one thing that really anoys me about the bush administration is there reffusal to listen to any but there own people and there general incompetence in carrying out anything theyve tried to acheive.EXACTLY!! I edited for paragraphs…hard to find them as this was an all-out rage rant

The UK government, negotiated with the terrorists, supposedly representing Northern Ireland, and look what’s happened. It can be beneficial to all concerned. The problem is (as was similarly mentioned elsewhere) ego’s become involved, and ego’s hate (or are not grown up enough) to admit they have to give something to resolve something, and the bigger the problem of uncertainty, of those people involved, the harder it is for them to let go of something that feeds their esteem. Bush, can not let go. It takes a bigger man (or women) to admit he/she misjudged something, than one who continues to refuse to admit they was wrong, and at least on some points.
I’m not going to say much about religion, because I am a representative of acapellas4u, though, judging somebody by the religion they are introduced at a young age (or later in life) is like judging somebody by the colour of their skin. And, I feel it is wrong to label people because of the actions of a minority. There are personalities in all of us, yet, to label every muslim as a potential terrorist is wrong. Although, I do feel more muslims in the UK (and I don’t just mean the Mosque Leaders) should condemn what the extremists are claiming to represent.
If these people hate western life so much, then why don’t they emigrate with the money they have (£3 in the UK equates to approximately £350 in Pakistan) and have a luxurious life. I don’t get it.

I sure hope I didnt come across as judging anyone for their religion and I certainly know that the Muslim faith is one of peace and healing, not hatred and war. What is so disturbing is that BOTH of these religious extremes are at opposition and BOTH religions are proclaiming to worship the ONE GOD of Abraham. I am angered only at the extremists and imagine that both Christ and Mohamed are looking down upon this with much grief.
