junoParticipantYesterday was crazy
. Long lines of cars at gas station waiting for $4 a gallon Regular here. And the damn road rage was out of control!! I had a guy almost run into the back of me then start waving a stick out the window (until he realized I had 4 other ppl in my car
) I’m wondering if this is really all because of the hurricanes like they keep saying. Alot of my friends think that something bad is gonna happen soon.

The CutterParticipantIt’s interesting to hear that gas has gone up to $4 for regular gas because I had heard a rumour about 2 months ago saying that by the end of the summer gas would go up nation wide to $4 a gal for regular gas.
I do not think it is all from the hurricane but a good portion is an affect from Katrina. In Louisiana they produce a lot of diesel gas. The trucks that haul gas to the stations run on diesel. No disel, no trucks, no gas for the rest of us. It is all about supply and demand. So they say
People in Florida have been stocking up on gas as if a hurricane was coming. I see people filling up their cars then filling up 4 gas cans on top of that.
I’m sorry but you can fill up on as much as you want but the price of oil/gas will continue to rise.
What can you do? Nothing really. Buy a motorcycle or a scooter if gas becomes to expensive. I’m sure glad I’ve got a motorcycle. I do agree that it does suck ass.

In SilicoParticipantI am pretty certain that gas prices haven’t risen at all because of the hurricane. Maybe $0.02-0.05 is from a hurricane, but that’s at most.
I was reading around, and found a buried article
citing someone saying that the US government would be tapping the SPR(Strategic Petroleum Reserve) to make up for the hurricane’s damaged rigs and shipping channels. What strikes me as odd about the price increase, is that the SPR is capable of dispensing about 500,000 barrels
of oil/petrol a day, which is more than 3 times the amount usually produced by the gulf coast’s destroyed rigs and imports…meaning we’re now importing MORE oil/petrol, at LESS cost, so why are we being charged more?
I have a feeling it has something to do with a country-bred, redneck, nascar-watching, whitebread, cokehead, drunk-driving, election-stealing, cowboy-boot-wearing, texas-born, right-winged, bible-thumping, too-stupid-to-be-president piece of shit whose name starts with BU and ends in SH, and his hidden overseas agendas.
Truthfully, if I could think of a way, I’d blame this hurricane on him…he probably had SOMETHING to do with it after all.
Remember, you can’t spell BULLSHIT without B.U.S.H.
Seriously, I hate that guy….if you voted for him, do us all a favor and lock yourself in a closet to prevent any further stupid actions on your part.
Or do you LIKE being censored and subjected to religious propaganda and paying $4/gal for gas? What were you thinking?
<- Athiest and fuckin’ proud of it in this country, day, and age. Fuck the religious right, and fuck the catholic church.

DJ ValParticipantWhen I left Zimbabwe 4 years ago we had to que up for gas every single day most days it was up to 8hrs, in that blazing African sun. These ques didn’t even guarantee there was even going to be a delivery of fuel that day. We just qued in the hope that there would be a delivery. Hell that’s what made me make the final decission in leaving, I couldn’t stand wasting my days in a hot car. Nowadays not only do you que up for gas/fuel/petrol they are now having to que for the basics like bread and milk.
Back to the subject in hand. I do believe that in the not too distant future, there is going to be something bad happening which will lead to a global shortage of gas/petrol. I just feel it in me bones. Heaven help us if that day does arrive. Maybe we should all start conserving gas/petrol, instead of driving by ourselves to the shops, why not ask a couple of our neighbours if they need to go as well, things like that. Just my thoughts on things
Take care

junoParticipanthas anyone been watching this stuff go on in Louisiana? Sh*t’s crazy over there
New Orleans is something like 6 or 8 feet below sea level. Everythings destroyed & ppl are looting all the shops. It really doesnt matter – all the stuff is getting ruined by the water anyway. They had video on the news with this dude walking down the road with like 10 – 20 pairs of new shoes tied around his neck

DJ ValParticipantI think it’s disgusting that the government is dragging it’s feet in helping and rescuing these poor people. I truly do not believe that there are not enough resources in a super power nation like US to rescue the ppl. I feel that once again Bush has some kind of hidden agenda in the way he is handly this, or lack of. Heavens above, when you think of all the resources he has used in previous rescue operations ie Tsunami and the Mozambique floods. The resources he has absolutely wasted in the ongoing Iraq war, who knows how much more he is wasting on the unneccessary!!
All he is doing now is announcing some piddly fund raiser being hosted by his pa and Clinton. I don’t know what is he thinking, his brain is currently up his a*se. Lets just hope that the anarchy dose not spread, due to the frustration of the whole thing.AdSense 336x280September 2, 2005 at 5:19 pm #577729

JuggernautParticipant$5.09? getting pretty close to the equivalent over here although a UK gallon is slightly bigger than a US gallon. so like if and (inevitabely) when petrol and diesel prices go up to a pound per litre that’s like 3/4 pounds a gallon (between 5/6 dollars). *signs life away to buy a hybrid car* yeah the whole thing in NOLA is crazy as. it’s a hollywood script that doesn’t have a resolution as fast as it should have.
michael moore wrote a ‘letter’ to which kinda hits the situation on the head but then it’s MM so there’s blatantly going to be a bias in his favour.
It’s all very very sad….and exceptionally frustrating.AdSense 336x280September 5, 2005 at 4:09 am #577876
LupinParticipantGaz ! Gaz Gaz ! that thing it’s crazy i’m from Montreal and the Gaz here it’s like 2 $ us !!!!!!! so everybody going crazy but they dont take any action to stop it

JuggernautParticipantwell you can’t really…now can you? i mean it’s not in our control, and it’s not 100% in any sole governments control either…

athornParticipantI think the hurricane has some to do with it but not all. People have always made money off of catastrophies. (war, 911 ect…)
A change in the western world is going to happen sometime soon. Maybe not tomorrow or next month but soon. And when it happens be prepared, no joke. Not that I am trying to start fear or say something everyone doesn’t already know…but be ready for bad days.

plurParticipantgot 2 stations battling at the moment. one just happens to be a new shop that open last thursday. it is an arco am/pm that open at $2.79, so the 76 stations accross the street lowered theirs from $2.93 to $2.79 to keep up. then the next day the arco station lowered their gas to $2.71… guess what the 76 station did? yep, lowered theirs to $2.71 as well. lets hope they keep trying to out do each other.
by the way if you in the area… they are both on the corner of ball road and brookhurst in anaheim (1 mile west of disneyland).
