Freestylers a-ha 2 Live Crew Horny Skillz on T.V.

This is a three-way mash-up of The Freestylers’ ‘Check the Skillz’ (1997), a-ha’s ‘The Sun Always Shines on T.V.'(1985), and 2 Live Crew’s ‘Me So Horny’ (1989).

For me, mash-ups originate from my experimental dj sets. I discover a few tracks that are nearly perfectly matched for pitch once beat matched. If I can get some lyrical inter-play between the tracks, then I feel like I’m on my way toward art. In this instance, the source material are full tracks (no acapellas) so there is the occasional clash between bass notes and melody. These tracks were recorded from my 12” single collection so expect some usual sonic artifacts associated with vinyl.
