hello everyone…

now i know this isnt about acapellas or music, but seeing as people on this site are always so helpful i figured id try u all out for some advice….

im an artist, that sells painitngs….

what i am looking for is an internet site that allows me to upload photos of my work along with a brief description below… something ideally that wouldnt cost anything (or is v cheap), but that allows me (as an amateur with no knowledge of web desinging etc.. tho im okay on photoshop) to be able to manage the site and add photos as and when i need to.

at present im using a site called "blogger.com" now this site is great, but as it works as a blog, it categorises my posts in a date format, which unfortunately makes it very difficult to navigate and browse overall in the sense i am looking to use it for.

so does anyone know of any such site that would work for what i need?

i know "flikr" kinda works along these lines, but it is really more of an independant space somewhat like myspace or something, but with out all the other crap that im looking for.

please help!!

Why not build your own site, then you can set it however you like…

Edit: Just did a quick Google for photo gallery, and came up, might be useful to you.

Welcome to the wacky world of web design. What you’re asking for is not out there … well, it may be, but I very much doubt it. The best advice I can give you is to put a little time into learning basic HTML and design your own site. Once you have the basics down, it’s quite easy to do what you describe. As for free … again, very doubtful, but cheap is possible. Google "cheap website hosting" and you’ll be bombarded by ’em.

I will give you a heads up and recommend the HTML editor I use: CoffeeCup … it’s very inexpensive and I doubt you’ll ever use all the tools it comes with.

You want ‘free web’ storage…. try (Sounds like an advert)
You get your own website with storage and an easy site builder.
Its a little basic but with a little knowledge of HTML you can make it more your own.
I found an absolutely brilliant place to start.
I was modding myspaz like anything after that

cheers guys i will have a look into these…

i do actually have a mate that built my web site… its just the overall maintenance of it i wanted to keep simplem but yea i see i might have to learn some html stuff.

You cant go wrong with Deviant Art for that kind of thing.

Its designed specifically for artists to promote themselves on the web.
