reagansmistressParticipantThe first time I ever heard this song I hated it and then I realized I really just hate T-pain’s beats then I thought; "Hey, why not do a remix?" and that’s where I am now all advice is welcome.

JaggedGParticipantDefinitely like this mix. It really adds the punchiness to the track that I feel was missing in the original and the few dance mixes I’ve heard.
The only thing that bothered me was the muddiness on the low and middle ranges. I loaded the track up into FL Studio and ran it through the multiband compressor, and with a little tweaking , it came out much crisper. I also messed around a little bit with a parametric EQ, but that didn’t make as much of a difference as the compression did. Maybe give that a shot to add a professional-sounding sheen to it and I’d totally blast this track in my car.
Overall, a solid piece of work. I’m listening to the original now and it’s putting me to sleep… And to think I liked it 10 minutes ago!

BattenParticipantI like where you are going with this but does need cleaned up sounds very harsh possible compression to help as already advised.
Good Job though

ChunkyEatsMyDinnerParticipantThis is a great mix, I love that mad hard house riff, it works really well.
It is however OVER compressed. I wouldnt suggest anymore!
It also sounds like artifacts have been added to the drums from a timestretch
algorhythm also.
I cant be too precise as im on my laptop speakers and cant see my headphones
*making a mental note to tidy room*
But it could be the levels were just driven far to hard in the mix and are clipping. With a play around with levels you could make this one really shine!

reagansmistressParticipantSo I totally did a new version of it. I lowered the compression ratio on my low and mid range and knocked out a frequency that was way way too loud… Seems to happen when using distortion. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. I think This is the peak of what I can accomplish in the mastering realm so if it’s not great please feel free to give me some pro pointers. Peace, love and popcorn. Zach.
